As part of the college's efforts to enhance the expertise of its students and link academics with practical applications, a student from the College of Engineering at Al-Ayen University participated in a specialized training program organized by the Mashwar (STARTUP) Foundation. The program lasted for an entire month, including theoretical lectures, practical applications, and field visits to international and local companies in the oil sector.
The program included important topics such as drilling, drilling mud, well inspection and logging, well completion, electric submersible pumps, capacity building, and occupational health and safety (HSE). Field visits to leading companies such as Schlumberger, Baker Hughes, BP, Oil Tech, TAAM, and others were also included. This provided the student with the opportunity to gain direct insight into the work environment and gain advanced field experience.
The student emphasized that the university helped him develop his academic foundations and specialized skills, enabling him to make the most of the program. A faculty member also visited the student during the training period as part of direct supervision and follow-up, emphasizing the college's commitment to supporting its students and encouraging them to undergo qualitative practical experiences.
In conclusion, participants took a final exam that included (100) questions in (100) minutes. This was followed by a closing ceremony attended by prominent academic and administrative figures. Scientific competitions were held to enhance team spirit and constructive competition among the participants.
The College of Engineering emphasizes that such participation reflects its commitment to preparing students who possess a combination of academic knowledge and practical experience, qualifying them to enter the labor market with high efficiency.
