University Media: Adyan Al-Aboudi
The Deputy Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Naseer A. Hussein, along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Maitham T. Qasim the Director of the Academic Affairs Department, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Amir, and Asst. Dr. Sara Jawad, editors-in-chief of academic journals at Al-Ayen Iraqi University, participated in the first conference of academic journal editorial boards, which was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister and hosted by the University of Technology in Baghdad, with vast participation by universities' presidents, editorial boards of Iraqi journals.
The conference addressed ways to improve the quality of Iraqi academic journals and enhance their presence in international rankings. It also discussed mechanisms for improving publishing standards to keep bace with international accreditation requirements. The annual report issued by Elsevier-Digital Commons was also presented, evaluating the status of Iraqi journals hosted on its platform. The report revealed positive and outstanding results for Al-Ayen Iraqi University journals, most notably:
• AUIQ Complementary Biological System Journal
• AUIQ Technical Engineering Science Journal
Prof. Dr. Hussein emphasized that Al-Ayen Iraqi University is taking deliberate steps to enhance the quality of its scientific journals and support its research staff for solid publishing. He considered this a fundamental pillar for advancing scientific research and strengthening the position of Iraqi universities in the global academic arena.
