The University's Continuing Education Department, in cooperation with the Dhi Qar Residency Directorate, organized an awareness workshop titled "Illegal Immigration: Challenges and Societal Impacts," as part of the department's efforts to raise awareness of issues affecting community security and youth.

The workshop was delivered by Lawful Major Dr. Ali Watan, who addressed the most significant negative effects of illegal immigration on individuals and society. He highlighted the legal aspects regulating residency in Iraq, particularly Residency Law No. 76 of 2017, its provisions regulating the entry and residency of foreigners, and the penalties for violations.

At the beginning of the workshop, Asst. Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Battat, Director of the Continuing Education Department, welcomed the attendees, appreciating the cooperation of the Residency Directorate in making this event a success. He emphasized the continued partnership with relevant authorities to organize events aimed at serving the community and highlighting its pressing issues, in line with the university's community and awareness-raising role.
