As part of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 5: Gender Equality), the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering Technology organized a workshop titled "Enhancing Women's Capacities in E-Governance, Understanding the Civil Service Law, and Improving Job Performance." The workshop was delivered by Asst. Lecturer Nour Mohammed Badri, and attended by a number of female faculty members.
The workshop aimed to promote institutional awareness and enhance skills related to the role of women in the digital workplace. It addressed several key topics, including:
• Empowering women in Iraq through e-governance, the Civil Service Law, and improving job performance
• The reality of women in Iraq: challenges they face and available opportunities
• E-Governance as a means to enhance women's access to services
• Uses of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in empowering women
• The role of e-governance in bridging the gender gap in organizations
• Technical and administrative challenges facing women in this field
• Key performance indicators (KPIs) as a tool for measuring progress in empowering women professionally
The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion session, in which attendees expressed their interest in the workshop topics and the importance of promoting awareness of the role of women in digital transformation and good governance. The Women's Affairs Unit affirmed its continued commitment to organizing events that contribute to developing the administrative and technical skills of women in both the academic and professional communities.
