Within the framework of strengthening academic and research cooperation between Arab universities and within the sustainable development goals (SDG Seventeen: Partnerships to achieve the goals), student Murtadha Walid Ghani, representative of the student chapter of the Society of Petroleum Engineers Branch AUIQ, paid an official visit to Kuwait University. During this visit, Dr. Mishaal Al-Gharib, head of the Petroleum Engineering Department at Kuwait University, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdullah, a faculty member at the same university, were honored by presenting them with an honorary plaque from the Chancellor of AUIQ, in appreciation of their distinguished efforts in supporting joint cooperation between the two universities.
This honor came as a culmination of the scientific cooperation between Al-Ayen Iraqi University AUIQ and Kuwait University through holding various scientific events, including the scientific lecture given by Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdullah to students of AUIQ, which was greatly appreciated by the attendees. The honoring ceremony was attended by Eng. Fatima Issa, Head of the Student Chapter of Kuwait University, where the honorary plaque was handed over in an atmosphere of understanding and academic partnership.
During the meetings held on the sidelines of the visit, an initial understanding was reached on enhancing future cooperation between the two universities, as the two sides discussed the possibility of exchanging academic visits for students and faculty members, and cooperating in conducting joint scientific research, in addition to participating in competitions and student activities related to the field of petroleum engineering.
Al-Ayen Iraqi University AUIQ expresses its pride in this fruitful cooperation, and affirms its keenness to strengthen the partnership with Kuwait University in the academic and research fields, in a way that serves the interests of students and researchers in both brotherly countries, and contributes to the development of knowledge and innovation in the field of petroleum engineering.
