The Student Activities Department at Al-Ayen Iraqi University achieved eighth place in the Al-Noor Quranic competition for Iraqi universities, which was organized by the Student Activities Department in the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education at the University of Basra and hosted by a number of public and private universities.
The Director of the Student Activities Department at Al-Ayen Iraqi University Asst. Prof. Dr. Hussein M. Tuama said that "our participation in the Al-Noor Quranic competition to compete between Iraqi public and private universities and colleges, and we were able to achieve eighth place."
He explained, "The competition included three sections: recitation, memorization, and interpretation." The atmosphere of competition was good among the participating students from different universities, and its atmosphere was wonderful, perhaps because it was the first version of this competition within the Ministry's curriculum.
Pointing out that "such competitions develop the capabilities and potential of university students, instill the spirit of faith in their souls, and develop all aspects of a balanced personality through learning the Holy Quran, reciting it, memorizing it, and contemplating it to gain its benefit and elevation."
