The Department of Petroleum Engineering in the College of Engineering held an introductory workshop on the Bologna system on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, targeting first-year students.
The workshop was delivered by Eng. Hussein F. Al-Hasouneh, during which he discussed the importance of the Bologna system in improving the quality of higher education and linking educational outcomes to the labor market, pointing out the role of this system in enhancing students' practical and scientific skills and preparing them for future challenges.
Eng. Hussein also reviewed the basic principles of the system, such as accrediting credit hours, organizing courses, and evaluating students' academic performance, stressing that the main goal of the system is to develop university education in line with international standards and labor market requirements.
At the end of the workshop, the floor was opened for discussion with students to answer their inquiries and help them understand the mechanisms for applying the Bologna system within the department.
