In its strive to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG #. 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). The College of Engineering Technology organized a scientific workshop entitled "Engineering Drawing and 3D Printing Technologies in the Medical and Engineering Field," presented by Mr. Muhammad Fadhel, on Sunday, January 12, 2025. In the presence of a number of professors and students.
The workshop focused on introducing students to 3D printing technology, explaining the basic principles of designing models and printing using this technology. The mechanism of 3D printing was also discussed in detail, in addition to reviewing its applications in many fields such as medicine, engineering, and industry.
The workshop also included practical training to teach participants to use 3D design programs such as Tinkercad and Fusion 360, and a detailed explanation of how to set up a 3D printer and adjust its settings to improve the accuracy and quality of printing.
The workshop concluded by highlighting the importance of 3D printing as an innovative tool to support creative thinking in designing engineering and medical models. The challenges that this technology may face, such as accuracy and cost, were also discussed, in addition to the need for optimal use of modern materials and technologies.
