The Students' Activities Department at Al-Ayen University concluded the Second Electronic University Poetry Festival in cooperation with the Cultural House. That was part of the curriculum of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and was held for the period November 6- 10, 2021 and participated by over thirty students from various college of the University.
The Director of Students' Activities Department, Dr. Hussein M. Toama, said, "The participants in this festival were true poets and deserve appreciation for their high poetic spirit which was acknowledged by the judgment committee. Their poems carried the aesthetic of the poetic sentence and the coherent artistic construction with content commensurate with the Country current stage).
Dr. Toama added, ( the poems of the students concentrated on various subjects, including patriotism and ignored extremism and sectarianism, which gave the impression that the youths tend to keep away from the danger of rumors that affect the unity of Iraq).
He indicated (the Knowledge of the students became influential tremendously through their concerns about the problem and dealing with it in transparency and poetics spirit that enhance the brotherhood spirit, and most of the poems focused on patriotism and this is beautiful and recommended thing in such festivals)
He continued, (the committee members assigned for the festival are: Poet Riyad K. Swadi, Poet Mohammad Al-Hafid, Poet Haider A. Abdulsahib. The committee announced the winners of the festival: Student Haider H. Chadir the first winner, Student Ghasaq M. Shareef the second winner, Student Saad Farhan the third winner and Student Jaafer Abdulsahib the fourth winner
