The College of Engineering Technology signed a joint twinning agreement with the Southern Technical University / College of Engineering Technology today, December 31, 2024, in the presence of the Dean of the College Asst. Prof. Rafid S. Abboud, the Deputy Dean for Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Raed N. Al-Obaidi, and the Head of the Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technology Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Najm. This agreement represents a qualitative step towards raising the level of the two colleges, enhancing their academic standing, and opening new horizons for scientific and research cooperation.
The Dean of the College of Engineering Technology Asst. Prof. Dr. Laila Blasim Hashem represented the Southern Technical University in signing this agreement, along with the College Council.
The agreement included a set of main axes, most notably: developing teaching and scientific research, enhancing student activities, management and career development, as well as cooperation in preparing study plans and unifying curricula for similar specializations. The agreement also included organizing conferences and training workshops to develop the skills of teaching and technical staff, cooperation in the areas of practical training, laboratory development, e-learning, joint lectures, and conducting unified exams for students.
