As part of its efforts to develop academic performance and improve the quality of education, the College of Engineering Technology, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Division, organized a specialized workshop entitled How to Write an Academic Description According to Quality Standards, on Monday, December 16, 2024. The workshop was held in the presence of a number of faculty members and heads of academic departments concerned with writing the academic description, where the most important methods and standards adopted in formulating the academic description of academic courses were highlighted.
The workshop included multiple axes presented by Dr. Ali Al-Tamimi, Director of the Quality Assurance Division, in which he discussed the mechanisms for preparing and updating the academic description in line with the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and focused on how to clarify learning outcomes and course objectives in a way that reflects the vision, mission and goals of the college.
The workshop also witnessed open discussions that addressed the most prominent challenges facing academic departments in preparing the academic description, and ways to overcome them by adopting clear and unified standards that ensure the accuracy of information and clarity of educational objectives.
Finally, it was emphasized that there should be cooperation between the academic departments and the Quality Assurance Division to hold similar workshops in the future, to enhance the culture of quality and develop academic practices in a way that ensures the achievement of the desired educational goals.
