On Sunday, December 8, 2024, the Deanship of the College of Engineering at Al-Ayen Iraqi University received its new students for the first stage in all its departments: Petroleum Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, and Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering.
The reception was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Firas F. Kazim, his deputy for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Saqr, and the Administrative Assistant, Dr. Asaad S. Hamid, in addition to the heads of scientific departments and advanced stage students.
The meeting witnessed welcoming speeches from the heads of departments: Head of AI Engineering Department Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarmed K. Dhiab gave a motivating speech to the first-stage students, speaking about the importance of the specialization and its role in the future. Also, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Y. Subaih, Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, spoke about the specialization and its prospects, praising the enthusiasm of the new students. As for Asst. Prof. Dr. Najeh Y. Al-Ali, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, he provided a comprehensive explanation of the specialization of petroleum engineering and its importance in the labor market.
The reception was marked by an interactive session between new students and advanced students, who shared their experiences and advice, which helped break down barriers and create a friendly atmosphere. During the meeting, the college highlighted its role in providing a variety of recreational events and student activities that are organized periodically, with the aim of enhancing the spirit of cooperation and creativity among students and enriching their university life. At the end of the meeting, the college deanship stressed the importance of commitment and diligence to achieve academic excellence, noting that the college's doors are always open to support students in their academic journey. The new students expressed their happiness with the encouraging start, looking forward to achieving distinctive achievements in their university life.
