The Dean of the College of Law, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khaled K. Awda participated in the First International Conference on Human Dignity entitled (Human Dignity and the Challenges of the Family in the Contemporary World), held at Ferdowsi University in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The conference was attended by religious, academic, and scientific figures, among whom the legal guardian of the Holy Raza Shrine, the Iraqi Cultural Advisor (Dr. Yasser Al-Hajjaj) and the Iraqi Consul in Mashhad Sheikh Prof. Dr. Hamid Shahriari, Head of the Scientific Assembly for the Rapprochement of Sects and Chairman of the Conference, who was honored with the plaque of Al-Ayen Iraqi University, the representative of the University of Tehran (Professor in the College of Law and Political Science) who was also honored with the plaque of Al-Ayen Iraqi University and opened up prospects for cooperation between the two colleges.
We participated with a research paper entitled (The Role of the Family in Promoting Awareness of the Law) which was presented at a high level in the central hall with the participation of (20) international universities including Iraq and (12) Iranian universities. We were chosen for membership in the scientific committee of the same conference, which will be held in Karbala. Our university, after your approval, supports this conference and participates through our speech in the committee and the preparatory seminar.
The rapid development constitutes the main topic of this international conference; what are the challenges that these developments carry within them for every family? What are the problems that they can create for this entity? Exploiting the energies of academics and making good use of the energies of members of scientific bodies in universities, activating these energies, launching projects and plans for family development, cooperation between the university and society in the context of achieving goals, cooperation and combining efforts to face challenges and confront threats to the family entity are among the most important goals that these conferences seek to reach and apply their outcomes to society.
