The Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering, Al-Ayen Iraqi University, held an awareness lecture on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, entitled "Combating Drugs in Universities and students' housing", with the aim of spreading awareness among students about the dangers of drugs and their negative effects on the health of the individual and the university community. The lecture was attended by Lawful Major Muhammad Naji and Mr. Hassan Saeed Mutlaq, who provided important information about the harms resulting from drug abuse and how to prevent them.

Major Naji reviewed the laws and legislation aimed at combating drugs in Iraq, focusing on the legal role of universities in providing a safe educational environment. As for Mr. Mutlaq, he addressed the social and psychological dimensions of the problem, stressing the importance of continuous awareness for students.

The lecture was held in an atmosphere of interaction between the participants, where they discussed ways of cooperation between students and the university administration to combat drugs. The need to support community efforts to promote a healthy and safe environment within the university campus and students' housing was also emphasized.

This event aims to intensify joint efforts to combat this phenomenon within Iraqi universities and enhance social responsibility among all.
