Al Ayen University inaugurates the Five-a-side football championship
Under the sponsorship of the respected Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Shafeeq S. Shafeeq, the Student's Activity Department in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sport sciences inaugurated the Five-a –side football tournament for the Faculties of the University.
The Director of Student Affairs Department Dr. Hussein M. Tuama stated "the championship included 42 teams who represented the departments and colleges of the university. The championship was inaugurated by three games as follow:
College of Dentistry
Third Stage A team X Fifth stage B team
Fourth stage D team X Second stage C team
Second stage C 2 team X Second stage C 3 team
He added, the tournament aimed to inspire the students to cooperate, and to enhance their health and physical aspects and to enforce the social bonds among the students of the university. He also declared that the University is a source of knowledge and inspiration and a fundamental pillar for sport education
He released, the sport level at Al-Ayen University is in continuous improvement and keeping pace with the scientific development, indicating that the tournament is carried out in groups, and explained that the university students need programmed joint sports activities that qualify them to gain physical fitness and healthy bodies. He also affirmed , the Activities Department at Al-Ayen University will arrange several tournaments as part of its internal program to be prepared to compete at the students activities prepared for by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research
