The Psychological and Educational Counseling Unit at the College of Education at Al-Ayen Iraqi University held a workshop on self-objectification among university students in the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Hussein B. Al-Hussaini, and a number of lecturers and students.
The Asst. Lecturer, Sari Abdul-Khader, lectured in which she discussed the impact of criticism on the student in using cosmetic surgeries as a type of self-rejection of his external appearance and others, indicating the need to work on developing guidance programs that aim to increase self-awareness, manage emotions, and acquire social skills among them through these workshops.
The workshop called on the educational family to identify the factors associated with self-objectification among students, provide them with an appropriate educational environment, limit the reinforcement of these factors, and provide them with guidance.
