The Student Activities Department at Al-Ayen Iraqi University participated in the activities of the first day of the international workshop tagged: The joint strategic role of university student activities and sports federations in organizing international championships and achieving the social and economic goals of sustainable development, which is organized by the Student Activities Department in the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority - Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific research, in cooperation with Al-Mustansiriya University, Dijlah University College, and the Iraqi Basketball Federation. It lasts for two consecutive days, with the participation of more than 50 teachers from various Iraqi public and private universities.
Prof. Dr. Ammar Al-Zubaidi, Head of the Student Activities Department in the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority at the Ministry of Higher Education said: The activities of the first day of the workshop, which were attended by the President of Al-Mustansiriya University, Prof. Dr. Hamid Fadel Al-Tamimi, and the Dean of Dijlah University College, Prof. Dr. Saeed Abdul Hadi Al-Marhej and President of the Iraqi Basketball Federation, Dr. Hussein Al-Ameedi and a number of professors and experts from inside and outside Iraq included three specific lectures. The first was entitled: The role of sports federations in raising the level of the sports industry and the challenges it faces, delivered by a member of the Lebanese National Olympic Committee, Mr. Hisham Walid Jaradi, while the second lecture was given by the President of the Yemeni Basketball Federation Mr. Abdul Sattar Ali Al-Hindani was titled: Innovative Methods for organizing sports festivals.
Meanwhile, Professor Suhad Dawoud Salman, Director of the Scientific Affairs Department at Al-Mustansiriya University, gave the third lecture, which was entitled: The joint role of university student activities and sports federations to promote good health and well-being to achieve sustainable development goals. The curriculum of the first day of the workshop also included organizing an open dialogue session. To discuss some matters and issues related to the topic of the workshop, as well as some of the obstacles and challenges facing student activities.
