On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University (AUIQ) Prof. Dr. Shafik S. Shafik, attended the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Bridges and Jobs Exhibition program, which is implemented in partnership between Dhi Qar University and the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) for cooperation in terms of training and developing the skills of graduates.
The ceremony was sponsored by His Excellency, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and in the presence of the representative of the Ministry Dr. Muwaffaq Sajt Samir, a delegation from the World Food Program, a number of officials from the governorate’s departments and institutions, private sector companies, directors of the governorate’s Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Industry, and the Businessmen Union, Dhi Qar Oil Company, deans of colleges and an elite group of academics and graduate trainees.
The program included the inauguration of the first job fair, as job fairs are considered a smart way to market skilled people to potential employers, whether in person or hypothetically. These fairs save time and reduce effort for job seekers because they bring together a large number of companies in one place and they also facilitate The process of communication among companies and job seekers, and provides companies with the opportunity to meet job seekers and test the most qualified applicants. The exhibition witnessed the participation of the Governorate Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber of Industry, the Businessmen Union, Dhi Qar Oil Company, and Bridges Program trainees.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the graduating trainees were honored with certificates to add to their knowledge that enables them to enter the work sectors and achieve what they aspire to.
