Edraak Organization for Human Development, in cooperation with the Palace of Culture and Arts in Dhi Qar - Nasiriyah - Iraq held a literary evening session in honor of Assoc. Prof. Dr. and writer Muhammad Yassin Sobeih - a member of the teaching staff at the Engineering Technical College on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in the Palace Culture and Arts in Dhi Qar
The session was inaugurated with speeches delivered by the writer Abbas Ajaj-the manager of Edraak Organization, and Mr. Ali Abdel Karim - Director of the Palace of Culture. They were followed by the writer and researcher Fadel Al Abbas, the moderator of the session, in a dialogue session with Dr. Muhammad Yassin, reviewing his achievements in terms of creative and critical books and articles, his writings of short stories, and his supervision of several other groups in addition to organizing many literary forums for the very short stories in various Syrian cities, mentioning his establishment of the Damascus Award for the best very short story collection, which reached its fourth session.
The researcher and critic, Mr. Muhammad Al-Mayahi also reviewed a critical reading of the achievements of Dr. Muhammad Yassin, and pointed out the importance of cooperation with the university, and the role of this in cultural and civilizational communication with the culture and arts community in the city of Nasiriyah, and spoke about the importance of linking the university with society, stressing Al-Ayen University’s keenness to communicate with the culture and literature community in Nasiriyah and Iraq in general in the future, as many writers and visual artists expressed their desire to cooperate with the university students through cultural and literary meetings, and through interest in encouraging students to read and be creative.
At the end of the evening, the Director of the Palace of Culture, Dr. Ali Abdel Karim, presented two certificates of appreciation to the celebrant and his interlocutor, and the Manager of the Edraak Organization - Abbas Ajaj presented the Plaque of Creativity to the Arab guest, who was distinguished by being one of the scientific figures in the field of information technology and a classified academic researcher, teacher, and successful administrator who held prestigious administrative positions in Educational institutions: There is no doubt that the presence of these comprehensive scientific and cultural figures has its repercussions on the academic environment and its direct relationship and connection with society. The evening session also witnessed the exchange of publications and media coverage by a number of media outlets.
