The principle of caring for orphans is part of our belief as a duty exposed upon society in accordance with Islamic jurisprudence. In continuation of supporting the SDG (Goal No. 1: eradicating poverty), (Goal No. 2: Eliminating hunger) and (Goal No. 16: peace, justice, and strong institutions), the College of Engineering Technology volunteer campaign launched the initiative of visiting the Altadhamun Alowla School for Orphans in the city of Nasiriyah, accompanied by a delegation of students from both departments (Computer Technology Engineering, Medical Device Technology Engineering) for the morning and evening studies. The delegation was headed by the Deputy Dean for Administrative Affairs Dr. Modi Lafta, and a number of members of the teaching staff.
The visit included breakfast with the children at the orphanage, which is also a school for children, in addition to performing a number of activities and games with the students. They were briefed on the reality of the institution, its work, and the services provided to orphans. The delegation also included a group of students who have barbering professions
The institution expressed its gratitude and appreciation with the initiative and that it is always ready to receive delegations and initiatives from other universities and institutions.
