 In an attempt to promote the sustainable development goals ( SDG) of improving the climate situation, the College of Technical Engineering visited the Open Educational College in Nasiriyah City in an afforestation initiative sponsored by the Dean of the College Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rafid S. Abboud, and the directly supervised by Deputy Dean for Administrative Affairs Dr. Modi L. Matar, Eng. Hammam Hassan, and an elite group of  students of the college.

 The aim of this initiative was to eliminate desertification and expand the green spaces in the institution. This campaign included planting dozens of trees inside, with the participation of academics students, including planting various trees such as basilica, olive, and acacia, and trees with appropriate climatic characteristics, due to the fact that climatic factor is one of human concerns since inception and is an utmost necessity in improving health and life.

 In conclusion, the Deanship of the Open Educational College expressed its happiness with this warm visit, praising the active students for taking care of their health and environmental interest in the city's environment.
