The Students Affairs Department at Al-Ayen University held a ceremony for raising the flag of Imam Hussein (pbuh), at the University Campus in remembrance of the anniversary of the immortal epic of Tuff at this Holy Month of Muharram. This was in presence of the Chancellor of University, Prof. Dr. Shafiq, the Vice-Chancellor for Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof Dr. Haider Marhoon, Deans of the Colleges and the teaching staff at the University.
The Chancellor of the University said, "Today, as we are raising the flag of Imam Hussein, (pbuh), is like we are raising the truth, and we inspire by the lessons and advice of this immortal epic.
Imam Hussein Revolution has granted the whole humanity eternal lessons in heroism, glory and sacrifice for the sake of lofty principles. He added ( we recall the harmful tragedy of the martyrdom of the master of the martyrs, his brothers and sons in Karbala which becomes a title for the sacrifice and redemption for the sake of principles and stand against the injustice and tyranny and in the revival of the principles of the religion of the Noble Messenger Muhammad (pbuh) that the oppressors tried to mess with. He also affirmed, (we aspire from this occasion to make our University as a platform for right and humanity and self-denial and a pure source for the seekers of science and knowledge
