The Dean of the Technical Engineering College Prof. Dr. Rafid S. Abboud and his Assistant for Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Raed N. Al-Obaidi, had jointly supervised the public discussion of the master thesis of the student Alaa Akram Jawad Muhammad, tagged "Marine Oil Spill Detection Based on Deep Learning Approaches Using Cloud Environment". The discussion took place in the Faculty of Information Technology - Department of Information Networks / University of Babylon.
The discussion committee was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mahdi S. Numa, and the following members: Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarmad K. Diab, and Associate Dr. Saba M. Hussein.
The topic of the thesis was about invention a method for detecting oil spills using artificial intelligence, relying on cloud computing as a way to reduce the damage caused by leakage in the marine environment. The work was awarded an excellence degree, having completed the discussion by the committee.
