Al-Ayen University inaugurates a handball championship for female students.
Under the sponsorship respected Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Shafik S. Shafik, the Student Activities Department, in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, inaugurated a handball tournament for female students of the university’s colleges.
Director of the Student Activities Department, Dr. Hussein M. Tohme said, “24 teams representing the university’s departments and colleges have participated in this tournament which was managed with matches between the two physical education teams, the fourth stage A against the second stage C, and the second stage A against the second stage B.” He added, “The tournament aims to instill the spirit of love.” and cooperation among students, adding that this tournament came to enhance health and physical aspects and to strengthen social ties among students of the university’s departments and colleges. Pointing out that the university is a source of knowledge and inspiration and an essential foundation for spreading sports awareness
He explained, "The sports level of the University is constantly developing and keeps pace with developments in the scientific field, indicating that the tournament system is a group system, with the opposite match between each two teams. He explained that university students need joint sports activities that qualify them to gain physical fitness and develop a program for those activities that are a health necessity for the body.
He stressed, "The Activities Department at the University will organize many tournaments within its internal curricula in preparation for participation in the competitions that will be organized by the Student Activities Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research."
