3.3.5: Mental health support for students
Al-Ayen Iraqi University is actively committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of its students through various initiatives aimed at raising awareness and providing the necessary resources offered by the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Department at the university and its colleges, as detailed in the provided links.
1. The Continuing Education Center, in cooperation with the College of Engineering at our university, organized a workshop entitled "Engaging in Rejecting Violence and Spreading Legal Awareness to Combat the Illicit Proliferation of Weapons." The workshop was presented by Professor Dr. Jalal Shanta Jabr from the College of Education, who addressed the types of violence and their negative effects on society, as well as the important role the university plays in confronting this phenomenon through awareness campaigns and the dissemination of legal knowledge. Dr. Jalal highlighted the significant dangers of the illicit proliferation of weapons and its detrimental impact on community safety, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between various academic and community entities to combat this phenomenon by raising awareness and enhancing legal understanding among individuals. This effort contributes to SDG 3, SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 16.
