  • The Energy Committee at Al Ayen university has hold a meeting with Dhi Qar Health Directorate to discuss the sustainability indicators according to THE Impact Ranking methodology 2022. This included the main sustainability development goals (SDGs) which represent the United Nation’s strategies to improve the human life by creating best life conditions; No poverty (SDG1), zero hunger (SDG2), good health and well-being (SDG3), quality education (SDG4), gender equality (SDG5), clean water and sanitation (SDG6), affordable and clean energy (SDG7), decent work and economic growth (SDG8), industry, innovation, and infrastructure (SDG9), reduced inequalities (SDG10), sustainable cities and communities (SDG11), responsible consumption and production (SDG12), climate action (SDG13), life below water (SDG14), life on land (SDG15), peace, justice, and strong institutions (SDG16), and partnerships for the goals (SDG17). The meeting emphasized that implementing the above goals is a general responsibility of all available sectors including community, education, industries, and governmental and non-governmental organizations, etc.
  • A coordination between Al Ayen University and Al-Ayn Social Care Foundation charity, which has been registered as an NGO in Iraq since 2006 and has an international activity, is effectively in progress since the establishment date of the University at 2017. This collaboration resulted in a support and financial aids from the University to tens of orphans and low income families as well as submitting financial aids to low income students to help them completing their degrees at the University.
  • In a coordination with international organization, Al Ayen University has started a project to gather data in Dhi Qar governorate about the radiation pollution. This includes a research plan to reduce and tackle the risks of these radiations on the human life and the environment. 
  • A fruitful collaboration between Al Ayen University and SPE international organization for oil and gas resulted in establishment of Student Chapter at the University with plans to organize several training workshops for the student. This can lead to introduce skilled staff to the oil and gas engineering sector and then to efficiently production of in highly demand oil and gas elements which have great impacts on industry and infrastructure, energy consumption, economic growth, and climate change.

  • Al Ayen University has issued an order to establish a specialist University’s committee to study and put plans to implement the sustainable development goals according to the THE Impact Rankings methodology 2022. This requires a real coordination with the wider community and all interested organizations/institutions; local, regional, and international.
  • Since its establishment date at 2017, Al Ayen University has hold several free training workshops to support the start-up medical laboratories in Dhi Qar governorate. Moreover, the mentorship services are ongoing for all relevant start-up businesses as an inherent University’s policy.
