The Continuing Education Center in cooperation with College of Health and Medical Technologies at A-Ayen University held a scientific lecture on Sunday, January 25, 2022 at the University Conference Hall. It was delivered by Dr. Ammar Al-Shirshab and entitled "Ask the expert: how Covid 19 effects the eyes". It was attended by the University Vice-Chancellor for Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Haider Marhoon, Deputy Dean of College of Health and Medical Technologies for Scientific Afairs Dr. Maitham Almosawi, Deputy Dean of the College for Administrative Affairs Dr. Hamid Ghatia, Asst. Lect. Ahmed Razzak from the Continuing Education Center and the Director of Opticianry Department Dr. Hashim Abbas.
The Lecture discussed many questions related to Corona Virus that are usually turned to ophthalmologist at the clinic centers. Among which, does the infection transmitted through sneezing droplets, touching, contact lenses or using some eye tools that are immunosuppressive, and how does the virus transmit in general, infection through the eye and the methods of protection from Covid 19 and its mutants
