In its endeavor to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education)
In an effort to enhance students' creative skills, the Engineering Technical College organized, on Monday, November 18, 2024, a training workshop entitled “Fundamentals of Photography”. The workshop was presented by student Hamad Abdullah Shahir from the Department of Medical Device Technologies Engineering, in the presence of Mr. Raed Nasr Al-Obeidi, Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs, and the Head of the Department of Medical Device Technologies Engineering, in addition to a number of faculty members and students interested in the field of photography.
The workshop dealt with the basic principles of photography, where the student explained how to deal with professional cameras and their settings, including lighting, focus, shutter speed, and light sensitivity (ISO). He also touched on the techniques of composing the image and distributing the elements in it to achieve distinctive shots of high quality.
The workshop included a practical aspect, and practical applications included shooting interior and exterior shots, with a focus on addressing common mistakes in photography and ways to avoid them.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs extended a word of thanks and appreciation to Hamad Abdullah Shaher for his distinguished efforts in preparing and presenting the workshop. He also praised the importance of such activities that support student talents and contribute to the development of their practical and artistic skills, stressing the keenness of the college to organize more events that combine academic and innovative aspects.
