The Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University, Prof. Dr. Shafik S. Shafik, blessed the launch of the fourth session of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) branch of Al-Ayen Iraqi University on Monday, November 4, 2024. This came during the central ceremony held by the university and attended by a number of members of the university council, teaching and functional staff, in addition to a large number of students and members of the SPE at our university.
Dr. Shafik confirmed through his speech that this association plays a major role in enhancing the capabilities of students and preparing them to keep pace with the rapid developments that are taking place rapidly in developed countries within the oil and gas sector, pointing to the role of the association in supporting students and linking them with real-world experiences, which contributes to refining their skills and qualifying them in a distinctive way for field work.
The Dean of the College of Engineering also delivered a speech in which he praised the importance of cooperation between the university and the SPE in supporting training and development programs for petroleum engineering students. He stressed the college's endeavor to provide full support to the student branch of the association to enable students to achieve professional achievements that reflect the quality of education at the university.
During the event, presentations were given on the most important activities of the association and its planned events for the current session, which aim to organize workshops, training courses and field visits to oil sites, to enable students to learn about the latest technologies and practices in the oil industry.
