On Sunday, October 13, 2024, Al-Ayen Iraqi University hosted the third meeting of the Higher Committee for Education in the province, headed by the First Deputy Governor of Dhi Qar Mr. Razzak K. Al-Ghazi. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chancellor of Al-Ayen Iraqi University for Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Haider A. Marhoun, and the presidents of universities: President of Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University, Dhi Qar Branch, Prof. Dr. Hussein Majeed, Deputy President of Shatra University, Prof. Dr. Raed M. Al-Zubaidi, Deputy President of the National University of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Falah H. Al-Asadi, and from the Southern Technical University, Dean of the Nasiriyah Technical Institute, Dr. Khawam R. Hussein, Director General of Dhi Qar Education, Mr. Ali Ismail Sabti, and Deputy Dean of Imam Al-Kadhim College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Majid H. Kassab. The meeting discussed the establishment of a (Dhi Qar Development Conference) to be reorganized every two years, which includes presenting research and studies on sustainable development in Dhi Qar Provence, finding solutions to problems in all sectors with the participation of public and private universities and colleges in the Provence under the auspices of Dhi Qar Governorate.
The issue of the Dhi Qar Heritage Museum was also discussed, which includes the province's heritage of documents, pictures, manuscripts, tools, books, etc., to be managed by the governorate and supervised by researchers and specialists with the aim of preserving Dhi Qar's heritage and immortalizing its effective role at the national level.
