On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, Al-Ayen University held the SPE chapter for its students in the presence of the Dean of the Oil Engineering College of Thi-Qar University Prof.  Dr. Adnan Abdulhussein, Lecturer at College of Sciences/ University of Babylon Prof. Dr. Amir Al-Khafagi, Head of Applied Geology at College of Science/ University of Babylon Asst. Prof. Dr. Muhannad  Rasim, Manager of Oil fields Commission at Thi-Qar Oil Co. Eng. Rasheed Sharhan who represented the Director General of the Co. Eng. Ali Khudair, the official of main wells Eng. Hussein Yaseen, Director of Reservoirs Dep. of Thi-Qar Oil Co. Eng. Ayed Juaid, Head of SPE Southern Region Eng. Wathiq Al-Muthaffer, the supervisor SPE Southern Region Eng. Ali Sadiq and Eng. Zainulabedeen Hasan, President of Al-Ayen University Prof. Dr. Sahfik Al-Mowla, the Vice President for Scientific Affairs Asst. Prof. Dr. Haider Marhoon, Dean of Engineering Technical College Asst. Prof. Dr. Rafid Al-Jiboori, Dean of Oil Engineering College Asst. Prof. Dr. Najih Al-Ali, Dean of Health and Medical Technologies College Asst. Prof. Dr. Ihsan Abbas and  a number of the  teaching staff, employees and students at the central Conference Hall of the Al-Ayen University

The Ceremony was inaugurated by a recitation of verses of Holy Quran, Iraqi National Anthem, recitation of Al-Fatiha Chapter for the blessed souls of Iraqi Martyrdoms and a speech of Al-Ayen University Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shafik Al-Mowla in which he stated (The University has established many unites to serve the community through accomplishing important service projects. and it's an honor to celebrate today in inaugurating this SPE activity, the society that we believe in its great importance to improve the performance of the College of Oil Engineering, as it has over 851 thousands members worldwide. Its importance lies in collecting , publishing and exchanging technical knowledge relating to exploring and developing the oil and gas production and the public benefit technology". that was followed by a speech by the Dean of Oil Engineering College Asst. Prof. Dr. Najih Al-Ali in which he stated " we are proud to have the students chapter in our University, I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to all those who contributed towards this achievement especially the Head of SPE chapter Dr. Abdulhussein Al-Itabi and we wish that our students will benefit of this society and we challenge on prosperous future for the student of the Oil Engineering College. The Head of the Student Chapter Ali Al-Musawi said " the University is so keen to meet the highest scientific levels for the staff and students in various fields especially oil engineering filed. we are proud to open this chapter in our University and consider it as a great achievement. He added, it will contribute through its future plans to strengthen the engineers skills in various fields, performing site visits for the oil wells fields, holding scientific workshops for the University students, establishing electronic journal and rewarding recognized certificates of participation and medals".

the Inaugural ceremony included an identification video show about the supervisor and the members of the SPE chapter at College of Oil Engineering - Al-Ayen University. a contest was conducted for the attending students in the field of Oil Engineering and pri.01zes were rewarded for the winners . The ceremony was concluded by a scientific lecture delivered by the Dean of Oil Engineering College Asst. Prof Dr. Najah Al-Ali.
