The first stage students of the Computer Technology Engineering Department, Ahmed Hamid and Ahmed Kholoud, delivered a presentation to discuss one of the ongoing projects within the annual exhibition of projects held by the College of Engineering Technology. The discussion was made by the project's supervisors, Dr. Maitham Hasan and Asst Teacher Ahmed Razzaq in the presence of Deputy Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Raed Nasr Al-Obaidi, the Head of the Department, Dr. Moudi Lafta, and a number of members of the teaching staff of our college on Wednesday, April 26, 2023.
idea of the project included controlling street lighting using Arduino and artificial intelligence with motion sensors connected to detect moving cars and people, which leads to eluminating lights only when motion is detected.
This project is a great example of using Arduino by increasing efficiency, saving time and effort as well as being applicable and installed in cities. The project includes a variety of electronic devices and parts such as: infrared sensor module, light sensor module, and conversion cables to transfer the data extracted from these devices to the Arduino. The project was also attached to smart parking technology, which is a space for reception and parking the cars, but with a specific capacity, its gate will be closed automatically once the number is complete.
